Ansonville Elementary School's
Pre-K class has a
Spring Infestation!
During the month long theme on Spring, the Pre-K children enjoyed a weeklong unit on Bugs and Spiders. They learned many things about the creepy crawlers, including benefits, by reading several books. Their various art projects focused on improving fine motor skills, letter recognition skills, lines of symmetry, counting skills, color and shape recognition skills, and were just plain fun to make!

Carolina vs. Duke
Rivalry @ AES
Sixth graders took sides in the Carolina/Duke rivalry leading up to the big game on Feb. 8th. After decorating their rooms and hallway with team paraphernalia, students engaged in many learning activities. They researched the history and origins of the rivalry, compared and contrasted the two teams, formed judgements based on facts and opinions, used game statistics to figure ratios and percentages and viewed multi-media clips of previous games and players.
